Was it just a coincidence that a few days after Trump goes on TV and criticises OBama?

its a coincidence but a good coincidence for Republicans. It shows that the liberal press is afraid of Trumps up front and unpadded criticism of Obama and his administration. They do the same with Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman. I don't think its going to work this time tho. A lot of liberals are starting to at least listen to all three and maybe even give their criticisms of Obama some clear thought. I hope so anyway.
