Is sublimed sulfur better than MSM for hair and skin?

I know MSM contains sulfur as well but I'm not sure which is better. The sulfur pellets at the store cost less than the MSM and I was going to buy the sublimed sulfur to make a recipe with for my hair. But the recipe calls for MSM...it's just a little out of my price range. Which is better?
