Do Americans care about the Royal Wedding? Or are they just being force fed wall to wall coverage by MSM?
Some do and some don't. I can't speak for everyone, but I can tell you that this is a big deal in part because the UK are our allies. Secondly, you have those that idolize Kate and William and as a result they give it attention. Then you have those that are into romance and love a good wedding. Whatever the reason, it really doesn't matter. At the end of the day it is just a one time deal, and after it is over we will move on to things that are of concern. I am not against the wedding, but I myself (American citizen) do not care that much to watch it. Nothing against them, I think it is wonderful. But I don't see a point in following an event like this if I do not live in the UK. I just chalk the coverage up to fanfare and money that can be made. Media outlets make money off of this type of thing because many viewers watch which means higher ratings and more revenue. So there is an economic reason behind the coverage.
